What does Botox do? Relaxes the muscles of the face that cause wrinkles and in doing so smooths the skin making your appearance more youthful.

Where is botox administered? Botox is safely administer just below the skin into the muscles of the face that cause wrinkles by repeatedly contracting the skin. In our practice Botox is administered with a microfine needle to minimize discomfort. Botox can also be administered into the muscles of the neck to help lift if the lower face. Botox can help to relieve undesirable sweating under the arms or hands as a treatment for a medical condition known as hyperhidrosis.

When should I have Botox? Botox begins to take effect a few days after it is administered. It’s full effect is usually seen within 7-10 days. Botox has a relaxing effect that usually lasts for 3-4 months.

Who should have Juvederm? Juvederm and Juvederm XC are used for superficial to moderate depth facial folds and lip augmentation. These fillers increases the fullness of the lips and can hep to redefine the lips borders and appearance.

What are dermal fillers? Juvederm and Juvederm XC are hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body. As the face ages there is a loss of volume do to a loss of hyaluronic acid, fat volume and even bone volume. Replacing hyaluronic acid helps to restore facial volume where loss has occurred.

Where is Juvederm used? Juvederm may be used to restore volume to the face. It may also be used to restore volume to the hands.

When should I have Juvederm? With Juvederm as with other dermal fillers, the results are immediate. There may be mild to moderate swelling for a day or two after administration which will resolve with the application of a cold compress or ice.
